Hello,

I'm currently trying to get a feel how to work with Fusion Electronics, coming from EAGLE.

My very first time trying to edit a library within fusion i encountered an issue.

So far we always used eagle to create and modify libraries. The library we use are all "managed libraries".

All libraries and their components are also visible in Fusion.

BUT, now i want to use Fusion to add a new component to one of these managed libraries.

What I am doing:

Step 1: Within Fusion's "Library Manager" I right click on the library i want to edit

Step2: On the window popping up i click on yes

Step 3: Local changes detected without doing anything after Step 2

I haven't tried yet to push a library with these "local changes" back to library.io. since I'm afraid this could mess things up.

Why does Fusion detect local changes?

It seems to be also an completly random mix of symbols and footprints with these apparent "changes".

Since i ran into this issue a have another question:

In Eagle I can discard/revert local changes, can the same be done in Fusion?

Kind regards

Just tried again to figure out the issue myself, it seems its polygons as far as i can tell:

A comparison of the troublesome parts with the "eagle"-version and the "fusion"-version of the library seems to always have this line changed:

eagle:

<polygon width="0.15" layer="21">

fusion:

<polygon width="0.15" layer="21" pour="solid">

This seems also to be already discussed back in:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-electronics/your-managed-library-has-local-changes/m-p/9871341

So i guess this "problem" is already solved 😉

Kind regards

Hello @AwiIngo,

I hope you're doing well. Always remember that the Fusion Team library and the Managed library are two separate and indpendent libraries. Additionally, Fusion can not modify managed libs directly, that's why it has you make a copy to Fusion Team.

At that point any changes should be made in the Fusion Team library and pushed back to the managed library if you still intend to work with EAGLE. You need to update your designs to refer to the Fusion Team lib to make sure changes are propagating correctly.

All of the above is just background checks to make sure we are on the same page with how these libs work. If you just want the quick answer, you should be able to push and everything be OK.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,
