Hello @Pbkarki,

What are the dimensions of the board? If it's a large board (several inches to a side) I could maybe see this happening but for a small board it shouldn't be a problem. Do you have any pictures of the curves on the PCB?

Could you also elaborate on the smoothness of the curve requirement?

Polygons approximate curves using 50um length tangent lines which are a higher resolution than what a board house will use in the screen to etch the boards. See that attached image for an explanation. Generally, the curves on a board will be smooth with this resolution of tangent line.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

One of our Physics labs wants me to create a small circuit board for them.

The design is simple, but needs smooth edges.

I imported their DXF into board design then traced the outlines to polygons. (polygon pour from outline)

One polygon is the outside edge (top layer) and the inside is trestrict

The polygon edges are curves, how do I increase the number of edges on each curve?

I hope you're doing well. This is just a visual artifact of the rendering on the screen to save performance. On the finished board the shape will be smooth.

I have received curved parts from my manufacturer, PCBWay, with those polygon edges before.

The polygon shows up on the CAM preview, on a PDF when exported, and on the 3D model generated from board view.

When I create gerber files and use an online gerber viewer they also show up.

Are you sure this isn't a Fusion 360 thing?

I attached the board, I had to use the .brd extension because the .fbrd extension is not permitted.

The board is 3mm x 3mm

Each circle is about 1mm

Why are things this small?
Physics. The Physics department asked me to make them this small circuit for some of their research up around 60Ghz, (~1mm wavelength). Since this is an RF project I want those curves to be as smooth as they can be. I understand there will be limits in manufacturing. This board would not be through my everyday board company and I don't want my design to be the limiting factor.

------------------------------

My previous boards on which the appeared were lines 240mm long with a 90 degree curve. I assumed that was something on their end. I did some sanding on the edges to make them smooth after I got those boards.

Those boards are not a problem, they're installed and working properly. The only problem is making sure these new board will come out correctly.

I hope you're doing well. Thank you for sharing the design, I would recommend sending the gerbers to the manufacturer and having them validate the manufacturability of it. From what I can tell it should be fine. Some manufacturers have gerber viewers that can confirm the design.
