Hi Franz,

This warning is displayed when the dielectric layer type that you set in the Layer Stackup Manager differs from the one you set in the CAM Processor. Can you please open the LSM (CLI layerstack;) and make sure that the dielectric type between Top and Route2 is actually PREPREG?

The Layer Stack Manager is the core piece that drives the layer stack as well as the CAM Processor so it needs to be correct.

May I ask if you can attach a picture of your Layer Stack Manager dialog so I can see how it looks? Thanks.

Otherwise if you can't figure it out you could send me the design if you are able to share it and I will have a quick look. You can remove any IP from it just leave the minimum that shows this Layer Stack behaviour. My email address is: constantin.popescu@autodesk.com

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Hi everyone,

I am testing my first 4 Layer ODB++ exports with Fusion 360.

Our layer stack is the following: Top – route 2 – route 3 – Bot. So I used the 4 layer preset and switched route 15 to route 3.

Now I see a warning message from the CAM-processor that a core ist expected between the Top and route 2 layer instead of prepreg.

If I change prepreg to core the warning message disappears but the setting is not correct in my opinion.

It would be great if someone could tell me if the warning or my setting is incorrect.

Best regards

Tobi

Hello Constantin Popescu,

thank you for your fast response. You were right my design rules stated that there was core material between the layers instead of prepreg.

I downloaded the newest .dru file from our manufacturer and checked the settings, which had the right stackup.

With the new file the stackup was right, but I couldn´t switch route 15 to route 3 in fusion 360 ( I sadly have to switch this everytime due to very old eagle projects). So my workaround was to load the file into eagle than switch route 15 to 3 and save the file.

The new file works perfectly in fusion and the warnings in ODB++ are gone.

Is there a way to alter the layers in fusion 360 similar to eagle?

Again thanks for your help.

Best regards

Tobi

I hope you're doing well. See this image

Choose the open from setup string option, that will allow you to setup the layers 1,2,3 and 16.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi Franz,

To add one bit to Jorge's great answer, in the "Open From Setup String" dialog just copy this layer Setup string: (1+2*3+16) and that should do what you need. In this dialog you can also choose to automatically add Surface Finish, Solder-Mask and Silk-Screen layers.

I hope this helps.

This is how the Layer Stack looks after I have loaded the layer setup string above:
