Rotating component

How do I rotate 90 degrees around origin when dragging a component in the PCB document? This is easy using my Windows computer with a mouse, but right now I´m using a MacBook without a mouse. Clicking the button in the inspector each time is way too slow, and I could only manage to bind a shortcut to the Rotate command, but that´s even slower as it brings up a dialog and I have to click even more.

I think that depends on how you have your track pad configured. I have mine set so a two finger press does the rotation. With a mouse it’s usually a separate button or combination of buttons. On a track pad it’s going to be a combination of touches instead. Check the settings dialog for trackpad and I’m sure you’ll find what you need.

Ah yes, I don't use that as much as I used to. I either use properties or the dialog that pops up from clicking tortate, which both allow you to type in the rotation, or when I click on the part to move it I cycle to the orientation I want before placing it. I use the latter mostly when placing parts initially and the former when I am modifying a part already placed.

How do you do this on your PC? I don't use a PC but maybe can propose a work around.

On my PC I just right click while dragging the component. Super easy.

Yes, it’s a combination of settings in Fusion and settings for the track pad. If you don’t use the trackpad regularly it’s hard to get all the gestures and touches down. I haven’t used a mouse in years because once I got used to the track pad it was much faster, the cursor moves with one finger and the other three plus the thumb are the equivalent of buttons but only require a touch or tap. I tried one of the space mouse things that is like a rotating wheel knob with buttons but that was going to take me a looong time to get used to. I was too busy to take the time to learn , and it was super sensitive. Some people swear by them, but I just swore at it. : )

I went through every setting, both in Fusion and for the track pad in macOS. I did not find any setting that would make this possible.

When you get used to the SpaceMouse, it's painful without.
