Easiest way to create component?

Hello Everyone.

I couldn't find LM2596S component in libraries. It bases on TO-263 package. Do I have to create this component from scratch even if many other components utilizes this package? The Eagle had functionality of running scripts. Under Fusion I can't see it.

I'm really frustrated. Drawing of simple shape of footprint is a nightmare. It seems that aligning polygon to pads not working. Every segment of polygon must be transformed using calculator to position it precisely. Anyone can advise me how to draw such a shape? Please refer LM2596S because number of pads matters. I attached mid stage of work creating footprint where I gave up.

Hi there! Did you try our Package Generator? It shows up when you select "Create New Package" in the library editor. I think generating one with 6 pins should work for you. Let us know if that helps!

Yes, sure, I tried it. It offers primary approach to real shape. Please refer to attached picture. Real shape is a little different. In most of the cases it happens. The problem is if shape is very simple and consist of a couple of polygons, there is no way to determine dimensions of each polygon segment and align it to other pads. with required distance. Generator is great, but doesn't offer real shapes. It works for very basic examples.

Ok that makes sense. In your original post you mentioned that you don't find where to run a script in Fusion Electronics, the scripts are still available in the automation tab:
