Hello,

Could somebody explain why I should define pin direction other than IO? I went through Google and Fusion 360 help and I didn't find the answer.

BTW is it possible to change multiple pins direction? If I select more than one and choose properties to change direction, only last selected pin will be changed.

Our support specialist is on sabbatical right now and I'm sure he could provide a better answer but I'll give this a shot.

The pin direction is used by the ERC to ensure that your schematic behaves as expected. It can usually be found in the data-sheet what this should be.

You can find some more information here: https://web.mit.edu/xavid/arch/i386_rhel4/help/69.htm

(We are working on consolidating the help information all in one place)

To edit multiple objects at the same time you should use the "inspector" panel (on the right) instead of the right-click properties which only operates on the object-under-the-cursor.

Hi @_Marek ,

just wanted to add one more information.

The information about pin directions can also be found in Fusion's help. Click the ? in the top right corner and go to "Learning and Documentation" - "Product Documentation". In the Electronics section, there is a command reference and the PIN command lists all available options.

Just follow this link https://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=ECD-CLI-P , scroll down to PIN and you will find it. 🙂

Hope this helps.

Hi Richard,

Yes, you ar right 😁 That explains the issue.

My request for Autodesk is to create links from the names of individual form fields to specific sections of the documentation. Eg Ctrl + click on field should open web page. It would be wonderful help system for people who doesn't work with product every day. Sometimes is hard to find already described answer.

Hi Pieter,

Your answer is complete. Thank you. 😁

If Autodesk is working on better help system it would be nice to implement links from field names. Please refer my answer to Richard.
