Copy schematics part section when building component

This seems simple but I can't find a way to do it. I am in the component editor making a schematic symbol. This symbol wants to be four LEDs in a row. They're not separate parts, I just want to draw the symbol to have four of them. The simple way should be to just select the first LED I drew and then paste it three times. But for the life of me I can't get this to work. Paste seems to actually just be a move? I couldn't see how to do it all at once or piece by piece. I feel like there must be a way, this can't be missing right?

Hi there!

One way to do it is to re-use your symbol 4 times in the "component editor" by "Add"-ing the base symbol 4 times.

Another way, if you want to have 1 symbol with the 4 LEDs, you can use Copy/Paste like you said. The way copy paste works is a bit special though, in that you first have to run the "copy" command, and afterwards run the "paste" command. I think that might be what you are experiencing.

If I got it wrong, it would help if you could record a quick video to see exactly what you are experiencing.

I don't want to go the single led base symbol and multiple in the component route. I could make that work in this case but there are plenty of other times I'd like to just copy paste some complicated part of a drawing. Here's a video:

Ah!

The context menu is confusing, unfortunately the way it works today is that it operates on the object under the cursor, rather than the selection.

The best way to proceed would be to use the copy/paste commands in the toolbar. We are very sorry for this confusion.
