ARRHHHH!!! Why is library management so MESSY! and SO DIFFICULT!!!

I havent used fusion elecronics for some time, ( i used eagle cad 15 yers ago for a while) i have a complex project with many PCB's in the one design and ive just started selecting components for one of the boards.

ARRHHH! The libraries still suck big time!!, most of the components that have been there for decades don't have any 3d models assigned to them??

what is going on? is everyone re-inventing the wheel??

So i'm trying to add a 3d model of a simple 4 pin header to an existing molex components and its a nightmare??

Libraries are just too confusing, non intuitive and a friggin nightmare! too many steps

should i have to spend 4 hours and much hair pulling just for one component??

when is autodesk going to make the libraries USEABLE!!!!! why cant you have all components with 3D models!!!

i see the component editor in fusion,i can see there is only a placeholder for the 3d package, why cant i just drag and drop a 3d model into it???

im sorry to say this, but its "S*HI*T!

I am sorry to hear that you are in trouble with libraries. Actually all libraries that come with Fusion have 3D models assigned, but the majority of libraries available for Fusion and EAGLE are in 2D. In case you miss a 3D package, my first guess is to visit the manufacturer's website and download a 3D model for your component. As soon as you have uploaded it into your Fusion environment you can add it to an existing component in the library.

Libraries is hot topic for the Fusion Electronics team. The team has plans to improve library consumption and management. I don't know when this will be released, but rest assured that we are working on this.

I watched and followed that video ( which is 4 years old!) BEFORE i tried to add the 3d model, it doesn't work!

We are working on getting more 3D models into the library. With that said a key thing to remember if you want to add 3D models to existing components, you first have to copy the component to your personal library and then add the 3D model there.

The default libs are not editable locally.
