Hi @pranav_veenam,

I hope you're doing well. This is likely because of the silkscreen touching the copper. This is not a big deal and you can usually proceed. Copper touching silkscreen is usually only a problem for very small components because the ink might gunk up the connection. For larger components the ink usually burns off.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Hey guys,

I've got 2 LEDs I'm trying to position into place. I've got their desired position marked by drawing lines. But when I try and drag the footprint to the location, it moves away from it. Refer to the video attached. It avoids the location almost like it's against the design rules, although I'm not sure what rule.

Even when I delete the drawn lines and move the component, it still avoids that location. Is there a design rule that I'm trying to break when I do this? I can't think of anything because there's no other part in that location for the LED to collide/interfere with. I know it's not too close to the board's edge because it's letting me get closer to the edge.

Normally on a PCB components don't have to be at exact locations and there's some wiggle room, but in this case I need those LED's there.

Any ideas or suggestions to fix the issue?

<video-js data-video-id="6354955850112" data-account="6057940548001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)

Hi there!

I can see you have "push violator" setting turned on which will block you from moving components over obstacles. You could turn it to "ignore violators" and make sure to avoid DRC errors yourself.

Hi @pranav_veenam,

In addition to PJs suggestion, you have a pre-existing via there. It may be what is blocking that LED component. You may want to check that one as well.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hey Pieter and Jorge,

Thanks for the suggestion! I followed it and placed the component where I needed it. I ran DRC and I'm getting errors. @jorge_garcia, you mentioned that it is happening because there is already a via there, but I don't see anything. Is there an actual issue here or can I clear the error and move on?

The only via there should be the one for the LED terminal, I'm not sure what else is there. In the screenshot, there is a small circle that's hashed in blue lines, could that be the object of interference?
