I have used Eagle for 15 years. Now it is dead and wont let me use it anymore. I need to create a board to send to have made, 10" wide x 6" high. The big board has several smaller boards on it, all separated by their own dimension rectangle which is how I have order multi-images boards forever. On an existing board from Eagle loaded into Fusion, some boards do not show the pour. Some do.

I go back to one of the individual boards from Eagle but loaded into Fusion and the pour is there. Copy from the individual board and paste into the Multi Image board, and the pour goes away. I have 4000 errors. Ratsnest says 0 Airwires: Eagle RC setting prevents Ratsnest from filling copper pours. The boards have been made many times I don't care about errors as it is fine. I just need to export gerbers.

On the top left board I deleted the polygons that were there, and created new polygons. Still not working. I made a polygon in a blank area and it works. For some reason polygons are not working on the top left, top right, lower right board as you can see traces with no pour.

Any ideas on how to get this to work? why why why screw up eagle? They should have left it alone I could have made and ordered boards for years to come with zero stress.

If I create a new document in Fusion, and paste the board the pour shows up. It doesn't want to work on the multi board.

If I Delete the large rectangle on dimension layer that contains the smaller boards, then the pour shows up on all boards.

If I draw a new rectangle using Line around the entire group on dimension layer ( required by board house) then pours go away.

6 hours into a 3 minute job.

Some progress. You must use Board Shape set to Dimension not LINE. This seems to work to make all boards show pours. But "CAM preview" is wrong. CAM Processor top copper preview looks correct.

Finally I got a hack to work. Eagle standalone wont let you do some things now that is says "free". I tried to get tech support to turn on old Eagle but they say once my subscription was paused it will never work again. BUT the good news is I can Export files from Fusion from the newly arranged multi image board that does open on my old Eagle, THEN the old Eagle lets me process CAM and the gerbers look correct.

Why is the SAME file not processing correctly in Fusion ( missing pour) but DOES process correct in Eagle?

You guys have really done your customers wrong.

Attached is the gerber view after Exporting from Fusion > Eagle> CAM process.

Hello @t_chapman6XJ7J ,

I hope this message finds you well. The key to getting things to work the same as in EAGLE is to go to Preferences > Electronics and uncheck Detect Board Shape box. This feature is critical for the 3D PCB workflows to work correctly. The only downside is that it makes panelization not work since this feature can only deal with one board shape which is obviously not the case with a panel.

Uncheck that checkbox and you should see everything behave correctly when generating the gerbers and board outlines. Your old CAM jobs should also work within Fusion.

Whenever you want to work with a normal single PCB file I would recommend re-enabling that feature.

Let me know if you continue to run into problems.

Best Regards,

Thanks! This seems to work at first glance. Tech support called me yesterday and we spent time on zoom looking at the issue. He concluded that I must not completely close the rectangle for each board on dimension layer, leave a little gap on each board. The outside dimension rectangle is closed. This works but requires special effort to go back and delete old lines, add new lines that dont make contact on the final corner. I hope your solution solves this going forward.

The image shows a corner left unconnected on of the boards inside the panel.
