I really hope Autodesk sees the overwhelming value this feature would bring to Fushion 360. Fusion 360 does work well, but it is not on par with SolidWorks in my opinion.

Hello everyone,

Posting on this board since I only have a license for Fusion 360.

I wanted to know if there is a extra tool or add-on for Fusion Electronics which can help with Wire Harness Design, something like the software from Zuken (e3.Cable) or Siemens Wire Harness in NX. I want to create a cad that has a wire harness, which also can generate a harness BoM and Layout in excel.

Thank You.

I could not agree more!

Integrating wire harness design into Fusion would be nothing short of amazing. Is not the Fusion "360" concept intended to close the loop in product design? Wire harness deign is a huge gap in truly achieving this goal. This feature would create a level of synergy far beyond any other product design suite I am aware of. I would forgive so many shortcomings in Fusion to get this feature...

Joe Baumbach

Owner/Engineer

Focus 9 Technology, LLC

Hello Jorge,

Sorry for the delayed reply.

Since I work with a mechanical team in creating enclosures and machines that need electronics to be hidden somewhere with only wires being visible.

Since we already have the 3D models of the PCB side connectors. Maybe we could have a option to add the mating connector with the option to route that cable to target location to get the estimated cable length for manufacturing, then for manufacturing process we could generate a harness drawing for a to scale print on paper and manufacture the harness in workshop. There could also be an option to add the costs of wires, crimps and connectors to have an estimate BoM.

Something on that terms.

Totally Agree. Fusion is hardly missing wire harness design.

It should at least be aible to dd connectors out of a library create a pin from to list.

Agree so much! Where is the wire harness feature? it would be so nice to have to mace complete products. To be able to get cable lengths and routing so that we can guarantee that there is space for the wires. I bigger problem then you might think in small robots.

Any news on this topic? Any plans of integrating it in fusion? Much like the way it's done in Inventor.

So I think it should be a part of the design space not only electric space. So we can make a complete assembly, even if the PCB's are imported from another program as STEP.

@jorge_garcia do you have any info? Who in Autodesk should know about this?
