For Easier Designing of PCB their are some questions,

1) Their is no option in fusion that can set origin at any point or as per our requirement, how to set origin as per our requirement.

2) And How to use Snap ON in fusion, when we measuring dimension it takes or measures from grid to grid, is there any setting that we can measure dimension from center of hole or from center if pad like happen in Altium Designer

3) How to Do Circuit Diagram Annotation in Schematic Design.

4) How to Change selected components values at same time, now we can change one component value at one time what if we have to change many component's value at same time

Hello @vaishnavigunjal1272001 ,

I hope you're doing well. I'll answer your questions in order.

1) The general recommendation is to draw your PCBs bottom left corner at the origin. If you want it elsewhere you can always move the entire PCB to whatever reference point you want to use. Additionally in the case of a circular PCB you can just draw it with the origin at the center.

2) This is currently not available in Fusion Electronics. The Dimension tools currently work better snapping to the grid or by selecting specific objects. We are working on incorporating Fusion Measure command into the Electronics workspace which will be able to give that information more readily. In the meantime, the Design Manager can give you precise information about the placement of pads within a component for example.

3) If I'm understanding you correctly, you can annotate the schematic by using the TEXT command and writing in whatever notes you want on the schematic.

4) There are several ways to do this. One of the easiest is to select all of the components whose value you want to change and then in the Inspector you can set a new value for them by typing in the value field.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Thank You sir for your reply,

3) I mean annotate, like for component name it have to take name from R1,R2 from Z direction means whenever i copy paste some component it can take name serially

4) Yes it can be do by this way but what if i want to change the value of one component in entire project or in entire schematic

I hope you're doing well. So for 3) the normal name command let's you change the reference designator of any given component. The Inspector would also allow you to do this for a single component. For 4) The Value command allows you to change the value of any given component.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Yes 3) Normal name command can change one by one name of any component but what if i want to change all resistors value at one time in entire project or entire schematic this will save our time.

In that case, you can form a selection that contains all of the resistors (very granular selections can be made using the Design Manager). Then in the Inspector you can go to the VALUE field and change the value for all of them.

Hi all,

One of the features I would like to see for creating footprints is to be able to set the origin by translating the whole canvas by x, y. It should push the translation onto a stack.

I have a background in 2D software graphics which I apply the method for drawing when creating component footprints:

1) I draw my first line from -x to x, where y = 0.
2) I change the grid dimensions.
3) I move the line -y and copy it to +y.

4) I draw a line -y to y, where x = 0.

5) I change the grid dimensions.

6) I move the line -x and copy it to +x.
--- I know have the outline box for my component
7) I set the grid to the X dimension I want to translate by, I select all and move everything -x.
8) I set the grid to the Y dimension I want to translate by, I select all and move everything -y.
-- I am now in the position where I want to create pads. (I have effectively a new origin).
9) After drawing the pads:
10) I set the grid to the X dimension I want to translate by, I select all and move everything x.
11) I set the grid to the Y dimension I want to translate by, I select all and move everything y.
-- I have restored the origin point. I may have a stack that I write of paper of 3 to 4 levels of translations that I have done. It would be really nice if this feature was built into the canvas to translate all / (effectively moves the origin point and remembers the translation on the stack). This way you don't need maths of measurements to draw footprints.

Does anyone else do this?
- Paul

Hi @vaishnavigunjal1272001 ,

So you shouldn't have to manually edit the file to get the rows and columns in Excel(Calc) by telling your spreadsheet program what the delimiter is it should automatically take care of the splitting for you. See here:
https://www.ablebits.com/office-addins-blog/change-excel-csv-delimiter/

The ERC and DRC can not infer design intent (as of right now) so they are just checking that the connections are made properly. As AI improves and is incorporated into Fusion then maybe those engineering errors will be caught.

Hey @vaishnavigunjal1272001 ,

I hope you're doing well. Was this library originally created in Fusion or EAGLE? If it is converted from another tool it might have issues and that could be what's going on here.

Would you be willing to share the library for review? Maybe we can find what's going on.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,
