I want to move some lines on the dxf layer 50 to the origin of a locked component. See below.

I have my selection filter setup like the following. The locked component is not on the dxf layer 50. It's on the TOP layer.

Drawing a selection box around the lines also selects the component origin.

I have to CTRL + left click the component origin to deselect it before I can move the lines.

The component should not have been selected in the first place because of the filtered layer.

BR -Chuck

Hello @chuck_toddN7PTC ,

I hope you're doing well. That is interesting, if you removed component from the top I guess it wouldnt select it right? I think it got selected because components technically live on copper layers since DXF is not a copper layer I guess the layer filter doesn't apply in this case and it defers to the type filter.

Let me know if de-selecting it from the type does work.

Best Regards,

@jorge_garcia

Removing the component type from the selection filter, the component origin is hidden, so of course it wouldn't be selected.

I want the component origin visible so I can use it to align the lines on the dxf layer 50 to it without selecting it.

So, if I were to switch the selection layer to TOP and keep the same selection filter settings. Then I try to select only the component.

All that is selected is the component, not the lines on the dxf layer 50. The only objects I'm targeting in the selection filter are on the TOP layer.

This is how it should work with just the dxf Layer 50 as the selection layer in the previous example. It should select the lines only and not the component origin.

BR -Chuck
