Hi rbeyerCLBSZ,

Your participation on the forum is greatly appreciated. To transfer components to other sheets it is best to use the default move (group) comman. Please follow these steps:

1- Use the copy command to duplicate a component.

2- Place it on the schematic.

3- Press the escape key to return to the default group/select mode.

4- Left click and hold the copied item and drag it to the respective sheet.

Copying a part to anther sheet doesn't work.

To reproduce:

Create a schematic and add two sheets.

Add a part (for example, a capacitor) to Sheet 1

Right-click, select "Copy"

Change to Sheet 2

The part appears attached to the mouse, however clicking just makes the part disappear. Switching back to Sheet 1 shows that the part was dropped on Sheet 1.

Selecting a part and typing "CTRL-C" (on Windows) and then go to another sheet and select "CTRL-V" does nothing. Typing "PASTE" either does nothing, or tells you that the clipboard buffer is empty.

This can be really annoying when you want to copy parts (with a lot of user-defined attributes) to a new sheet. Right now it seems like that is broken, so I have to recreate all the attributes every time I want to use a part on a new sheet.

Edwin-

Thank you for the work-around, I will do that for now... But shouldn't the copy/paste command work? It works in Eagle... If this is the intended operation, shouldn't the cut/paste command be removed in Fusion?

Hi rbeyerCLBSZ,

Greatly appreciate the reply, you are correct, the copy/paste would be the obvious choice. Developers are looking into it.

Best Regards,

Hi @rbeyerCLBSZ ,

Hope all is well.

We have made a fix in the latest Fusion 360 which is released today.

Could you please upgrade to latest version 2.0.8111 to have a try. Hope it helps.

A small tips:

When you are trying to paste the items in other sheet, if you find it doesn't' work, please also try to click the sheet to invoke the editor, and then try paste again.

Please feel free to let us know if you need our further assistant.

So sorry for any inconvenience.

Regards,

This still doesn't really work...

I can CTRL-X/CTRL-V to cut/paste, but for a multi-gate part this creates a new part, not moves the part.

So for example I have a part, U1 that has multiple symbols for the same part:

Notice how the names are "U1G$1", and "U1G$2", etc. I want to move "U1G$1" to a different sheet. I copy/paste it on a new sheet and the name changes:

The name is now "U2G$1", meaning that this is a new part. Trying to rename this back to "U1" gives an error about there already being a part with that name.
