topic Select components for BOM in Fusion Electronics Forum

I actually like it that now all PCB production is done in Fusion360 instead of the need to use Eagle at the same time.
I have made so far two PCB designs that are almost ready for production.

However there is something I'm not so sure about: previously on Eagle there was a way during the making of BOM list to choose which electronic component goes on each footprint, as well as from which manufacturer the component is brought, or even to leave out some components so when I send to production they wouldn't be soldered with other components.
The end result basically is that if I opt to have the PCB manufacturer to solder some component and leave out others so I may solder them if and when I need to, as well as I guess to choose which brand the components come from (example: resistors for company X rather than from company Y or wires of certain AWG of certain color and length.)
I'm not sure if and how I can do that.
Am I missing something during the CAM processing or maybe it's really unrelated and all I need is to contact the PCB manufacturer about this?

In my current case the PCB I want to produce when exporting the BOM, I get a list of all 3 resistors as 0805 SMD and one SMD Dip-Switch and the LED don't show (that's okay since I want to solder it myself) but I can't choose component suppliers or if they are RoHS compliant.
What should I do?
And on a side note: How can I design a PCB that has more than 2 copper layers? If it helps in any way I have the Education license and the PCBs I want to make are for cosplay prop.

Hi @fabio55JATR7,

I hope you're doing well. One option is to continue using the same BOM ulp that you used in EAGLE in Fusion360. You still have the ability to assign attributes in Fusion 360 just like you did in EAGLE using the Attribute command under the document menu. If you could be more specific of how you did it in EAGLE I may have a better idea of how you should do it in Fusion360. Did you use the Designlink ULP in EAGLE to make your BOM's? If you did, we don't yet have something equivalent in Fusion360 so the process will be a little more intensive.

You can define additional layers in the DRC layers tab. You can access the DRC from the validate menu or by writing DRC in the Electronics command line and pressing enter.

Let me know if you continue to run into problems.

Best Regards,

Back in Eagle, I did use the DesignLink, I've also contacted the PCB manufacturer and was told by them that is it enough to add MPN to each item I want them to assemble and delete the items I don't want to them to assemble.
I look forward to when this option will be available in Fusion360.
I have tried before that to link an existing Fusion360 board to Eagle, but any board post this update cannot be linked and so I couldn't use the DesignLink.
