Hello @mphatak68,

I hope you're doing well. Most pick and place machines only place smd components. That's why the default pick and place generation attached to the CAM processor only exports smd components. If you want everything then run the mount-smd-tht.ulp that comes with Fusion 360.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hi All,

This may be an easy question? I'm guessing I'm simply doing something wrong. Basically after some troubleshooting i finally realized why some of my components were not included in the CAM export, it turns out only the surface mounts (SMD) were exported but not the PTH components which in my case is about a 3rd of all the components.

My question is how do i add the PTH components to the CAM export? I can see them in the CAM preview and also in the files after i do CAM processing, but in the CAM export they are not included.

Many thanks,

Marcus

Hi Marcus,

Thank you for joining us, that is a good question. In the CAM processor Gerber output, the drill hole for the pads is not displayed.

Thanks for getting back on this, but how about the output files under Assembly shouldn't all the components be there? If i run CAM processing it creates three files

<project_name>_front.txt (this contains surface mounted components)

<project_name>_back.txt (this is empty as my project dont have back mounted components)

<project_name>.txt (this includes the PTH components)

However when running the CAM export which creates a zip file; it only includes the first two files _front and _back, the third file with PTH components is not created. I want to send this project to for PCB manufacturing and Assembly, but i need the PTH components to be included, am I doing something wrong or what is the reason for this?

Thanks,

Marcus

Hi CaptainMJ ,

Your reply is appreciated. I just wanted to let you know that your assessment of the exported .txt files is correct. I tried using the single click CAM output on a few designs, the 3 assembly files were created, not sure why you are not seeing them. The third file you have indicated that is missing is the BOM listed by values. This file can be easily generated from the schematic editor. In the Command Line type the command RUN, from the list of supplied ULP's select the one called BOM.ULP. Change the listing type to Values and save the file in the format that best meets your requirements.

What I really need is the BOM.ULP to export something that designates what side of the board my component is on. And, like OP, I cannot have my non-SMD parts excluded from the export.

The CAM Processor Pick+Place files (top, bottom) still does NOT include any of the through-hole (THT) components.

Does anyone have a work-around for this?

How come this is not fixed already??
