Hi @j.sokolowski

Thanks for your update.

Do you add any mdl from your local file? If you do, can you try to put them in ~/Documents/Fusion 360/spice directory and try to Simulate it again.

If it still can't work well, do you mind sharing your schematic and mdl file to me (panpan.fan@autodesk.com) so that I can send them to our Develop Team to check the issue here.

I'v been setting up a simple AC sweep of a circuit (SPICE simulation). Well, actually, it's a schematic transfered over from Eagle - worked just fine there.

But when I tried to run it in Fusion it errors out with:

There was an issue running the simulation, see the simulation output for more detail.

In Eagle there was an output pane to tell you what went wrong.

Can't find it anywhere in Fusion? Am I blind???

I hope you are doing well.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I see your question about Simulation Output window. Can you confirm if you use the latest Fusion 360 version? I think an output window have existed in the latest Fusion 360 to show the error message the like the attached screenshot:

If you have used the latest version and still have the issue to see the output window. Please let us know, thanks!

I just ran an update. Now I have v. 2.8.8176.

Now I'm getting:

Could not open '1%'

as soon as I click the simulate button in the tool bar (the one with the sine wave that brings up the simulation setup dialog).

I click OK, click Simulate, get the same pop-up twice, I click OK on both and then I get

There was an issue running the simulation, see the simulation output for more detail

pop-up again. And still nothing that looks like an Output. I do have the window that you had in your screenshot. The space on the right where you had the output but it's empty.

Hi @j.sokolowski

I hope you are doing well. I see your description. Can you tell us the way you create this simulation file? Did you use the ngspice library or did you use the private mdl file? Do you open this file from the local path or do you save it in the Fusion then open it from data panel? If you use mdl file, then the reason may be that Fusion can't find the mdl path in some cases. In the latest Fusion, when you add spice model, it will record the information in the schematic file so that no mdl path recognition issue here. I guess the old file may still have mdl path recognition issue even if you open it in the latest Fusion.

If the schematic is not complex, my suggestion is that you can remove the spice model and add them again, or you can create simulation file in the latest Fusion (So that Fusion can record the mdl path information in the new schematic). Then you can try it again to see if it can Simulate successfully. If it still can't work, please let us know.

Sorry for the inconvenience again.

1. Using the ngspice-simulation library.

2. Simple circuit. A voltage source, capacitors, inductors and a resistor as a load. It's an RF diplexer. Essentially a pair of filters.

3. I also set up a simpler circuit from scratch in Fusion. Same result. All components have modells assigned and the correct SPICEPREFIX.

4. Same results in both cases above.

5. Also get the Could not open '1%' pop-up when closing the Simulation dialog.

Thank you for your comment.

So you created both files in old Fusion, right? The file created in old fusion may have the mdl path recognition issue which have been fixed in the latest Fusion 360. Can you please try to create a same simulation file in the latest Fusion. I just try to create a new simulation file and it works for me.

If it still can't work, please let us know. Thank you very much!

I have created a simulation file from scratch in the latest version of Fusion360.

Issues are the same.

The version this was done in is 2.0.8176 and the OS is Mac.

In addition to the issue I originally described (There was an issue running the simulation, see the simulation output for more detail. pop-up and lack of output) I am now experiencing a new issue (since the update earlier today - on your recommendation) where I get a Could not open '1%' pop-up as soon as I attempt to enter the simulation dialog.

This latest issue has been reported in the forum by another user. He began experiencing it after updating to the version that I have now. He is also using Mac.

No models at all. Intrinsic devices only (spice internal models that is).

Works just fine in Eagle 9.6.1 (stand alone).

Does not work in Eagle 9.7.0 (Fusion 360).

I will send over the schematic file and the netlists generated by Eagle and Fusion. To my eye they are identical. At least as far as the device device definitions and set ups are concerned.

Cheers.

Hi guys,

I have a similar error; the schematic is very simple (VCC, Resistor and LED) and it was newly created with the last version of Fusion 360. In this case, I had to map the LED with DMOD.mdl (found in Eagle).

I checked the folder Documents/Fusion 360/Spice/ and the file DMOD is there.

I am using a MAC too.

Any help?

Cheers

Fabz
