Hi,

In the latest version of Fusion 360, in the Electronics module there is no longer an "Unpour Polygons" option.

Please see attached screenshot showing the new dropdown list of options regarding polygons.

How do I remove polygon pours now? There is an option to hide/show polygons them, but there is no option to remove them. Polygons are still in the Gerber files generated even if I hide the polygons.

Thank you,

/Henrik

Hi Henrik,

Thank you for posting in the Fusion 360 electronics forum. In the last update of Fusion 360, Polygon was fully revamped. Traditionally polygons were a sequence of line stroke that would create a solid pour. This caused large data files in addition to inaccurate pours on the design. The new polygon takes care of this, in addition, polygon now automatically refreshes as modifications are being made to the design.

As you already discovered, the polygons don't need to be controlled by the ratsnest command. From the Polygon pull down menu you are able to select the option Hide Polygon Fills. You will notice that the polygon outline is indicated by the dashed lines while the polygon fill is represented by a thin outline .

If you wish to get rid of a polygon you need to delete it. With the new polygon system, the polygon outline is always visible. Use the Delete command and delete the corners of the polygon. Once you have deleted 3 corners, the polygon will be fully deleted. I hope this helps. Please keep us informed of your progress.

Further to Edwin's response, each Polygon Pour on your board has a Show Fill property that allows you to control each individual's show/hide fill behavior. The toolbar menu options simply manipulate those polygon Properties on a global scale, for your entire board. When you de-select a Polygon Pour's Show Fill property, it also suspends its automatic re-fill mechanism until you once again set the Show Fill property. Cheers!

Thank you for the explanation.

I must say that I am very happy with your launch of electronics CAD in Fusion 360. Being able to do both mechanical and electrical CAD in one software is so nice. And the fact that everything is synced to the cloud, and that versions are handled well makes it so easy to work with.

Keep up the great work!

WKR,

Henrik
