Poor image resolution in CAM Processor

When image is exported to PNG, resolution of 300 dpi is used. When routes and distances between them are narrow (10 mils or less), bitmap's pixel size matters. For example: let's take a look at prototype:

Routes equals 10 mils. When we zoom to specific area:

we can see that distance between route and polygon is not equal on both sides. The difference is 1 pixel. For routes 6 mils, 1 pixel means that difference between both sides will achieve 50%. If we use such a bitmaps for UV imagesetter, one side of the route will have many shortcuts along narrower notch.

In my opinion problem is easy to fix by adding new option:

Please vote to my idea. 🙂

Hello @_Marek ,

I hope you're doing well. This is a good suggestion I'll put in a ticket for it. In the meantime, you can use the export image command to export images of the PCB with resolutions 1500+ dpi. You'll find it under the document menu in the output subsection.

It exports whatever layers are currently visible so by adjusting the layers you can get high resolution images for your UV manufacturing process.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Yes, it can be temporary workaround.

I noticed that manual export images includes signal names visible in THT pads holes. They should be removed.

Regarding my origin request, it would be great to have one more option: include or not THT holes. CAM process makes all pads solid areas. Exporting image - includes holes. It may be useful for people .who build prototypes and drills holes manually. This is not important option to me, but I think about others.

I hope you're doing well. You can turn off the signal names and pad names in the preferences under Electronics > Misc. Uncheck the Display Signal Names on Pads and Display Pad names checkboxes.

Hi Jorge,

Yes I know, but my feature request is to replace messages, by tooltip which will show up when mouse is hover over the signal. It could happen for example when additionally Shift or Alt or Control is pressed.
