Hi Jorge,

Thanks for your reply. I have tried clearing the cache and reinstalling Fusion. Unfortunately the issue is still not resolved.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can try. I'll try to recreate the issue on my laptop as well.

Hi,

Since a few days, Fusion crashes every time I try to add a package to a footprint. This worked fine before. Regardless of whether I choose "Create New 3D Model", or "Attach Copy of Existing 3D Model", the 3D view opens with the footprint in there. Then, the program freezes and a few seconds later crashes.

What I've already tried:

- Restarted my computer

- Closed all other software

- Installed the latest graphics drivers

I am on version 2.0.9313 and I'm running Windows 10 build 18363.1198.

I would appreciate some help as I cannot have a electronics/mechanical workflow right now.

Jim

Try to create this part again, step by step,as new lib, new name, do not reuse 3d package. Yes I know making 80 pins packages sucks

Hi, sorry for my late reply. Still struggling with this problem. I'm now on a new computer, brand new install, all drivers up-to-date, still the same problem.

Please find an example library attached, it happens with every library for me though.

Steps to reproduce:

- import .lbr

- via library manager, click Edit

- go to footprints

- right click on any footprint and click Create new 3d model OR Attach Dopy of existing 3d model

- Fusion asks you to save the new 3d model, click save

- Fusion crashes

I have just submitted a new error report CER_232899617, maybe this contains some more information. Would be great to have this fixed. Let me know if I can provide any more information.

Hi Jorge,

I don't think it has anything to do with the file, as it happens with many files for me. I am on version 2.0.9512 on Windows 10 20H2 19042.746. Maybe it has something to do with where you save the 3D model?

I don't have a particularly exotic system, and it's happened on two systems now, so I'm surprised this is not happening to more people.

After trying out some more, I realized the problem only occurs if the device you are editing is currently used in a electronics projects.

So new steps to reproduce:

- Create/open an electronics project

- import .lbr

- Add a component from library to the design

- via library manager, click Edit

- go to footprints and try to add a 3D model to the footprint of the device that you added in the design

- Fusion asks you to save the new 3d model, click save

- Fusion crashes

I hope you're doing well. I tried this as well and it didn't cause a crash, something else is going on. Try this and let's see if maybe you have something old cached and it's creating problems. Try this, first click on the question mark > Support and Diagnostics > Clear cache.

Does this help? If not it might be worth re-installing Fusion360.

I just confirmed that the crash also occurs on my laptop. So that's three computers where the crash occurs which leaves me to think it's really a software problem. I suspect there is something subly different in what we do. I've attached a video of the crash to better explain where the issue occurs. I hope we can continue to weed out the issue.

Since a few weeks, something seems to have changed and I am not experiencing these crashes anymore. Fusion still crashes a few times per day, but it's become stable enough that it's now very usable.
