Hi Carlos,

This is a VERY IMPORTANT Point your making. ( that i have discovered after the fact!)

I am experiencing the same issues, I am currently getting support from one of the customer support people to walk me through the fixes.

The thing is, that AUTODESK did not make this important point more OBVIOUS when transitioning over to Fusion Electronics, In fact there should even be a SET-UP PROCEDURE that appears when first trying to create your first Fusion Electronics PCB, so it can set up your fusion team, the libraries and a video to show this process ( a walk through video?)

Most of us will still want to use Eagle standalone until we get use to the new system!

Thanks

Dave M

HI Carlos,

I cant help you much, as i am having hell as well,

When I switched to Fusion Team ( i was told to set it up this way) , I ended up with 7 copies of the same library all in various stages of completeness?

I spent the entire weekend trying to strangle the libraries back to just one main library ( as I originally had) and now the 3d models are shifting position! amongst a million other issues!

Fusion Electronics is full of POLTERGEIST!

Also, be careful, if you use a device from one library, it may appear to be ok, but the 3D Model may actually be in another place! This is what i have discovered.

very very Con-FUSION!

regards

Dave M

Thank you for sharing.....wishing for better news.

I have no choice by to run away. I cannot be a part of a cruel experiment. Designing electronics is hard enough - the software absolutely positively MUST be better than this.

After a one-on-one conversation with @jorge_garcia at Autodesk, I got the answer to this one.

First: Watch the video I linked above.

As a user coming from the original stand-alone Eagle, my part libraries were established as 'managed' libraries which means they are stored and managed in a cloud system called library.io. In general, the users do not interact directly with library.io although you can login to it and see you libraries. The only thing most people need to know is that is the system that holds library data that needs to be broadly shared or used with Eagle.

Fusion360 has it's own library system as well which is wholly independent of the library.io sytem or Eagle local libraries. When an F360 user needs access to an exisiting library that exists on library.io, they can open it up and look at it......but when you save it you have now created a Fusion library. The Fusion library is a copy of the original.

At this point, you have two libraries like what I showed in the original post. They need to be 'linked' so that as you make changes and additions - the two seperate libraries always have the same data. There are some pitfalls here that I am still trying to undersand but I am making progress in my understanding while simultaneously pushing for a system that is far more intuitive. It should not require this my work.

I am doing a test project in Fusion purely to investigate its ability to get through an entire project. Not nearly brave enough to push a real project through at the moment.

Also, I don't want any future decisions for Eagle to force me into the learning curve in the middle of an important project. Hoping to approach this at a slow and steady pace.

Hi Carlos,

would you believe I have COMPLETED a PCB in the new Fusion electronics,

Luckily it was just a small adaptor board with just a few connectors! a design that should of taken less than a day, but took me a week and a half!

My gerbers are ready for my board house!

But I had and still have heaps of issues with the libraries, I am planning on going through my current MASTER Library and fixing all the bugs and issues.

good luck with your test project.

ALSO, I believe you can just EXPORT your Libraries to your computer/desktop, I've done this just in case all goes Kaput!

Yes you can export a Fusion library from inside Fusion. It creates an *.flbr file.
This file can be used with Fusion, but not in Eagle.

If you save a managed library from within Eagle - you get an *.lbr file that can be used in Eagle OR Fusion360.

The most hacker-style method that I know of is to log into your library.io account in a browser.
Get the 'urn' number from either Eagle or Fusion360 of the library of interest.....
Use this URL command to download the version of your choice:
<LI-CODE lang="markup">https://contapi.circuits.io/123D-Circuits/libraries/ASSETID/export?type=eagle&datamodel_version=9.6.3&version=xx</LI-CODE>
Change 'ASSETID' to the 'urn' number.
Change 'xx' to the version number you need.

press <enter>

It will return the *.lbr file of the specified version.
This is how I recovered my damaged library.

I experience similar issues, in general the whole workflow of adding 3D components to libraries and the management of libraries is extremely labour intensive to the point of being absolutely unusable at this stage. I hope this whole system will see a complete overhaul as this will keep me using Eagle for the foreseeable future albeit being an avid Fusion 360 user.
