Pick and place does not include through hole components

As the title says. The cam output doesn't include any through hole components. The manufacturer is asking for them, so I assume it is something that should be generated but there are no options in the cam output. My current workaround will be to just manually type them out. Has anyone run into this issue?

I wrote my own ULP years ago to control output for PnP. We used part ATTRIBUTES to control how they are output.

Sadly, this is/was not a trivial process that required some effort to learn the ULP system - which is now different inside of Fusion360.

I had this same issue just now.

Manufacturer contacted me saying that there are parts missing from the Pick and Place file.

I checked and noticed all the through hole parts are missing. Got about 300 SMD parts and only two through hole parts. The parts in question are tiny through hole connectors but they would be placed with the SMD part.

I also ended up manually typing them in. I could not find a way to include them in the CAM.

@jorge_garciaIs there any workaround this or could we make a a feature request for this?

Hi Guys,

I hope you are all doing well. We ship with multiple pick and place ulps. The mount-smd-tht.ulp will export the pick and place information including the through holes.

No manual editing necessary.

It seem that ULP file outputs are placed in a deep dark corner of the local disk.

@jorge_garciacan you specify locations or invoke a save-as dialog with a ULP?

How to use that _mount_smd_tht.ulp file? how to run it after I have downloaded it.

In Fusion360, in PCB project, you have to go to [AUTOMATION] tab and select [Run ULP] in [Automation] menu.

Find mount-smd-tht script and run it.

The one is the most recent Fusion version does a good job and asks for a destination.

Can you explain Why hasn't this been fixed yet? making p&p file works for me.

Smd and Th file (csv) is generated in a directory of choice.

Hello @m.ensing2UAQJ,

I hope you're doing well. Unfortunately, it's not possible to change what ULP the CAM generator uses for pick and place. If you want the pick and place that includes the through-hole components you have to run the ULP.

I'll add your comments to the existing request for a better pick and place in the CAM processor.
