Again library problem...again and again and again....

WHY ! I can't editing a component !! WHAT I DO BAD ??????????? I just want to put a simple LED and edit it !! oh my god it's hard !! may be I am idiot...

Impossible to use Fusion today, I lost a big time to try to solve this problem, we will use and test DIP TRACE with my students.

I know how a satellite works but not the Fusion library's philosophy

Hi @RitchieFromParis thankyou. This is a clear example of how a workflow that seems intuitive has a point of failure. The LED in your design has not been replaced by your new copy and still points to it's original Library.io read-only source. The step missing was that you need to use Replace to change the LED to your own library copy.

We actually are going to release a lot of improvements in the Library process in the next 6-12months to fix problems just like this. But having your video is very good feedback and I will make sure it is shared with the right people in addition to me.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

We could not finish a project with my students and were forced to use another software (diptrace) it is very tiring and destabilizing.

There is really a big problem with the management of your libraries, it's too complex and not at all intuitive for our students and ours teachers, we can not continue like that.

We often edit components in a project, whenever we have to edit a component is a big stress.

There were not so many problems with Eagle ...

I think unfortunately we will change software in all our universities, we have 20 universities across the world and all have the same opinion, what a shame! But I could not do anything to defend fusion with my boss.

Thanks anyway Benjamin but 6 hours to make a simple project with Fusion against only 2 hours with diptrace !!!!!

Hi @RitchieFromParis,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

As a workaround, there is an option “Copy Device to Library” that would help you to directly copy the part to a target library for editing.

But this option will be enabled in the menu when there is any library opened in Fusion.

If multiple libraries are opened then you can choose the target library to copy.

I hope you're doing well. Your not going crazy, it's just new workflows that need to be resolved and improved. There's a lot of work going on in this area and it should bear fruit soon. We want to really make it something that is pleasing to use.
