Hello @pg.delest,

I hope you're doing well. I figure you have labels on those nets, would that be correct? If you do, the trick is to delete the labels, then every instance will auto-increment.

By design, any nets with labels displaying their name will preserve that name when inserted into a new design. If nets don't have labels they auto-increment. If you really want the labels then you can put them back once you have inserted as many instances as you need.

Let me know if you continue to run into problems.

Best Regards,

Hi,

Im' wondering if there is any tips to auto-increment a net name when inserting a schematic.

Basically here we have an I/O stage drawn into a schematic that we'll reuse mutilple times on a board. When inserting the I/O stage into let's say the "main board", we're are prompted with the window where we can rename the net if needed.

In our case we don't want all I/O to be linked together but to be separated, so we could each time rename each net for I/O-1, then I/O-2 etc... I'm wondering if there is any trick to name the nets into the schematics that will be inserted so when inserted in the main schematic FUSION will automatically append a number.

e.g.: LOAD_X inside the I/O stage schematic => when inserted FUSION will generate net LOAD_1, then on next insert LOAD_2 etc...

Thank you very much

PG

Hi,

Thanks, I tested and it works fine. In other word changing a net name from something like N$0 to LOAD_0, when the schematic is inserted, FUSION will automatically increment the tailing number as long as the net does not have any label.

The little work around is then to add some manual text next to the net to immediatly know what it does, like we'd have a label.

Thanks

PS: love the fact that on this forum we get very fast replies 👍
