Great, the root or the key problem behind my question was/is lack of function what would allow to stick components, to the points drafted on document layer, or any better?.

The walk around is to set origin in the middle of rotary axis, middle of 2D circle. And then just by doing symmetry when you have already half parts placed you do the next by hand by reversing coordinates from + X to -X values and vice versa. This only helps if it symmetrical. Sticking parts coordinates to any drafted two line intersection would be great feature, like in 3D sketch editor.

I did sketch converted in to 3D PCB , pushed it to the 2D pcb. Now because I need chassis connection to the case i need to place stand-holes which are ideally placed to the center of my holes from sketch. This is done by hand by copy paste coordinates. There is always a lot of check if they are ideal circular, and there is no place for any failure if you have two boards in sandwich configuration coupled via pin header with 50mils raster.

Sticking feature is missing in 2D editor or..I do not know something yet.

Three holes moving by hand is peanuts but lets imaging placing LED circularly.

see video, it is a bug or I do not know something. User could solve the problem if there would be move command available for 3D pcb.

See video, it is problematic when working with rounded PCBs. Later on when I want to push it to 2D PCB to use it as my board outline. It does not help to to place components circular when the 0:0 origins are somwhere off the board. There are tricks like move(> 0 0) ( xx yy) command but why not to make it correct from the very beginning?

@jorge_garcia

@panpan_fan

@yqliu

<iframe width="640" height="650" src="https://screencast.autodesk.com/Embed/Timeline/724e5bd3-208d-4877-9c4c-4887eb8596af" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen></iframe>

The origins are preserved (but only in 3D PCB) if I use "create PCB" from sketch. But both options does not allow to set PCB thickness //what I mentioned in other topic, and whats more both Pushed to 2D PCB have again bad origins.

What is wondering me is why I can not simply use my 3D PCB extruded from sketch, to be used as board outline. Auto-desk force to create second 3D file/object which has ability to be "Push to 2D PCB" or "linked " as board outline. Other 3D files as not allowed even they could be. If so would be allowed then I would have my correct PCB thickens.

I know it is to much for developers, just Please keep the origins after producing 3D PCB and after pushing to 2D editor or please give user ability to move origins.

@christopher2KLSVU, this is a known issue and we have already planned to improve it.

Here are some historical reasons in case you are interested in why it was designed/implemented like this:

1. The origin you saw is actually not the sketch origin: it's the origin of the active component. A sketch in Fusion has its own coordinate system. Where the sketch origin is depends on how you created the sketch. What makes it confusing is there is no obvious indicator to show the sketch origin. But if you activate the sketch, you can get some clue from the text labels.

2. When creating a 3D PCB, we shift the origin to the lower left corner on purpose because of many users' requests, because EAGLE users used to draw the boards in the first quadrant.

I agree with you that some features are missing. Many items you mentioned here (like sticking feature in 2D) are already considered. We are also thinking to carry more sketch data from 3D PCB to 2D PCB so you can use sketch tools like constraints to do the layout and don't need to copy the x,y values.

Did you use the point to pint move option released in July update? If you didn't you can look at the video I shared in this post, and see if it's helpful to your case at this moment?

The point to point moving I know, this is how i wanted to fix origin coordinates by moving entire 3D PCB to my center point, but it does not allow to move the board.

Can I move parts in 3D board and then push their new location to 2D editor?

Yes, you can. That's what the "Push to 2D PCB" command does.

If your board is not complicated, you can just check the "Update 2D PCB" (and "Reroute" if you want).
