Fusion 360 Electronics files linked to Eagle sch and brd don't update after changes in Eagle

Hi,

I created "New Electronics Design" in Fusion 360 and then linked Schematic and PCB documents to sch and brd files in Eagle folder on my PC. But when I make any changes in sch and brd files in Eagle on my PC, I am not able to update Schematic and PCB documents in Fusion 360.

I have created also "3D PCB" document in Fusion 360 (using Sync to Fusion) and it is possible to update it from Eagle using "Sync to Fusion". But why it does not work with Scematic and PCB documents in Fusion 360?

I hope you are doing well!

When you link the local Eagle sch and brd file to the Electronic Design and then save it. Then it will saved the sch and brd files as fsch and fbrd file in the Fusion 360 data panel. So they are different from the local Eagle sch and brd file now.

In other words, they have no relationship between them so they can't get updated.

I will recommend that you can use Fusion 360 to finish the you schematic and 2d PCB design. Or you can finish your final design in Eagle and then link them to Fusion 360 Electronic Design. Then use View 3D PCB, you can see your 3D PCB successfully.

Thank you for your reply, now I understand better how it works. In my opinion it gives result opposite to what we (you and me) want. I would like to have convergent solution where data between ECAD and MCAD are seamlessly synchronized, but instead I have even more mess with even more files format... It looks like very unfortunate attempt of glueing different pieces of software together...

By the way - what is the purpose of "Publish to Fusion Team" option in Eagle? I can "publish" sch and brd files to the Fusion Team, but I am not able even to link "New electronics projects" to them... The only purpose of "Publish to Fusion Team" I can see is sharing sch and brd files between different computers where "real Eagle" is used. Please let me know if there is any other purpose.

For Publish to Fusion Team, you are correct. When we Publish to Fusion Team, then we can download the sch/pbc file when we work on different computers. CAM data can also be uploaded.

Besides, we can also use the share link to share our schematic and PCB files to other people for reviewing or downloading.

For the sync function, we don't support that because Fusion 360 is using the fsch/fbrd format which are not supported in Eagle side. Hope it can answer your question.
