Unable to Move 3D PCB Component Point to Point

Hello,

I am unable to properly use the Move 3D PCB Component Point to Point. I am trying to align an LED 3D model to a hole in an enclosure. I took a standard Eagle footprint and added my own LED model on top of it. I am unsure if it has to do with the model itself, or if the coordinate systems are mismatched somehow.

I am able to use the Move 3D PCB Component command successfully if I use the Free Move option, but I really don't like this option as its more or less an eye ball estimation.

I was wondering if someone could take a look at my screencast, and see if anything looks particularly odd.

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble.

Thank you very much for the video to demonstrate the issue.

Whether the issue happened only for that specified LED file you created in that PCB board file? Have you tried to move other component with point to point too?

We tried by ourselves but not able to reproduce this issue yet. Do you mind inviting me to your project hub to have a try? Thank you.

Additionally, in your video, we noticed the LED is flipped in Preview once the device is selected to move in the Edit in Place environment, that's a known issue which is due to the LED was flipped when you creating the 3D Package. Sorry about any inconvenience.

Hello,

I figured out the problem. My 3D PCB board was correctly laid out on the X-Y plane, however in my mechanical enclosure model the board was rotated and laid out on the X-Z plane. I went through and rotated everything in the model, and now the Move 3D PCB Component Point to Point works great!
