topic PCB 3D body loses details after export in Fusion Electronics Forum

Hello,

I am using Eagle and fusion 360 separately. Normally, from the eagle, I export the 3D design to Fusion and then open it up there. But when I export the design as a step file and reopen it in Fusion, it loses a lot of details. I have attached a couple of images as references. How can I prevent it from happening? My final goal is to create an enclosure around the design. That's why I am exporting the step file to make a single body and reopening it in the fusion360 to create the enclosure around it.

Best Wishes

Hi @Ifthekhar.ahammad ,

I hope you're doing well. The step model doesn't carry any of the trace or graphics info. It's just the 3D model with the 3D Components.

Since you are already using Fusion360 I don't see a need to do the STEP export. You can just take the 3D model you have in Fusion 360 and then insert it into another file and design the enclosure around that.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,
