expected behavior of rotate; how to change it

I am struggling to rotate a name of a component.
Actually a very basic and simple task!

Green is what I would expect and red is what I get.
Is there a logic reason behind this behavior and can it be changed so that it meets my expectation?

Hi @Musti75 , I agree with you the behavior is a bit hard to understand. But it does provide the flexibility to create all of the result you need. Please try the "Spin" option in the command dialog when the result is not as you expected.

Hey, @yqliu

what do mean by command dialog?
Typing 'Spin' in the command line throws an error.
On all the other dialog container there is no field 'Spin'.

Hello @Musti75,

I hope you're doing well. Select the text and then look in the inspector. There is a checkbox that says SPIN make sure it's checked and you'll see that now the text gets the rotation you want.

By default the text always orients so that it's readable from left to right, bottom to top. When you set the SPIN flag this auto-orient is disabled.

the way you explain it, that sound very convincing!
Unfortunately, I seem to have a different version or I am getting something totally wrong.
Here is all that there is on my 'INSPECTOR' when I choose to rotate/spin the name 'V2' of a connector:

Changing the value for 'Angel' has the same behavior than clicking on the semi circle/ round arrow on the very bottom.

I hope you're doing well. Are you looking in the schematic or in the board? The Spin flag is only available in the 2D PCB, it's not used in the schematic.

Hey, Jorge,

why this inconsistency, why not on both?🙄
There are a lot of these 'small' inconsistencies in Fusion!

Just take for example the way you can constrain the dimensions of a board.
As easy as this job is done in the schematic of the 3D part as much it is a pain in electronics part.
I hope one day we will have a much better version in regards of consistency and efficient work flow.

Hi @Musti75,

I hope you're doing well. In this case the inconsistency exists because you would never want upside down text on the schematic. For this reason, the auto-orient behavior can not be disabled in the schematic editor. There are standards for schematic readability and the rotate in the schematic essentially guarantees you can't get upside-down text on the schematic.

Unfortunately, it will take a TON of work to get the constraint solver into the 2D PCB. However it is currently possible to draw sketches on the 3D PCB and then reference them on the 2D PCB to align components to specific locations among other things.
