Hello, I'm a beginner at using Fusion and I'm supposed to be making a 2D can design for a PCB. I was trying to include legs that would go into through holes and decided to mark points, use the center rectangle tool, and trim away the excess lines I don't need. On one particular can, I'm not able to trim one end of the rectangle and the lines within the rectangle I created. A warning comes up that mentions "constraints and/or dimensions were removed" which is fine, and I think normally comes up when I sketch trim but the lines don't seem to go away and I'm unsure why this is happening.. I've looked at other similar issues but none have helped.. but I attached an image of what it should look like, and what my current issue is. **EDIT: attached the model file as well.

It's completely possible there's a better way to do what I'm trying to do.. Any help would be great!

Screen Captures are great but the forum users really need your model to give you a good relevant answer. Please attach it to your question. If you do not know how, open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save the file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

Dave, I attached my working file to my initial message.

I want to trim away the parts of the thinner rectangle from the inner area so only the half that protrudes out is left. I'm able to trim away the sides but not the shorter length of the rectangle and the lines that pass through the center of the rectangle. I'm also having issues with the angled side as well.

can you clarify what you mean by the yellow icons?

Edit Sketch - and Trim works as expected here.

Yellow icons, in the timeline, appear when you ignore the delete warning, and you delete anyway. This sketch has a reference to a sketch plane, and used it to anchor the sketch, it's missing.

Might help....

In my Screencast, I show you first how to correct the "Yellow" warning on the sketch in question. I then show you that the Trim command works pretty well on most of the lines you wanted to delete. You have to remove dimensions before you can delete unnecessary lines. I then show you how you need to relate your sketch to the origin before it moves on you. You need to add a lot of dimensions and constraints to finish up this sketch.
