Hello:

I am designing a device to be screwed onto a 1 inch diameter threaded galvanized pipe.

The galvanized pipe threading is 1 inch in length but the diameter of the threading starts out one size
and then increases in size as it ends at the pipe.

Because of the increase in thread diameter, I can only get my device screwed onto the pipe about 1/4 of an inch.

How do I design the threading so it accommodates the increase threading diameters so that

the device I am screwing onto the 1 inch galvanized threaded pipe uses the whole 1 inch thread?

Thank you.

Tom

Hi,

Could it be that you are looking for an NPT (conical thread)?
You should find NPT in the thread lists.

günther

Gunther:

I did as you suggested and it did not work.

The printed device only screws onto the galvanized pipe about 1/2 inch. I need it to screw onto a 1 1/2" threaded area. I need to be able to adjust the width but The system sets up the diameter of the threaded area and does not allow me to adjust it.

What am I not doing right?

Tom

I
