Remodel a remote control - how to smooth edges

I am stuck on smoothing edges for a remote control, it is supposed to look like this edge:

I used parametric modelling, but can't get the edges nice and smooth:

with sculpting (what I'm not too familiar with...), there is always something that does not match the intended curves:

is there someone who can give some hints on how to sclupt this?

Thanks Guenther, that looks good. -But now, how can I make the bottom slightly smaller as the top? as can be seen here (I tried using a taper angle, but it again creates bad surface continuity😞

- and how can the top be still straight as seen here:
