Scaling a part of a drawing relative to another part with parameters

Hi There,

I've built out this design so I can customize everything with parameters.

But here you can see there is a logo drawing on the front that has cut into this extrusion. When I scale the design with parameters, everything is linked, so it all scales, but the logo does not.

Is there a way for me to scale this logo so it scales up relative to the rest of the drawing?

Link to mp4 results in video double the size of my screen, so it isn't viewable. Screencast works better (See help links at top of forum for download/install instructions).

It would be even better to attach your file to the thread. From the File menu, select Export, then Archive file *.f3d. Attach the exported file.

Is the logo text or an image?

How did you do the scaling? It worked fine for me. Note: Sketches aren't scaled.

@lafnian1990 Photoshop has nothing to do with this model.

I should have read your first post closer 😧 In order to scale parametrically, the logo sketch needs to be fully constrained with dimensions relative to the cube size.

Attached is a start for you.

Here's what I did:

Turn off the Auto project items in Preferences!!!
Add two User parameters: BaseSize (Initial size of the cube) and Multiplier (Scale factor).
Create a new sketch on the XZ plane. When you extrude use the From Plane option.
Project, with Projection Link checked, the inner border of the cube.
Draw a line between two corner points.
Draw a point in space. Use Midpoint constraint to put it at the midpoint of the line.
Project the straight lines from the previous logo sketch with Projection Link unchecked.
Use 3 point circles to replace the splines.
Use the Trim command to remove excess.
Use the Tangent constraint between the arcs.
Add constraints and dimensions to geometry which is only relative to each other in the sketch (Vertical lines and angles between them).
Add dimensions to the rest of the geometry. These need to be relative to the cube size so each one will be a formula, the current size times the Multiplier parameter. I did one line to show how it's done.
Continue adding dimensions until the sketch lock symbol appears in the Browser.
You should be able to change the scale at this point and have the sketch update.
Once the lock symbol appears, delete the logo extrusion.
Extrude the new logo.

Thanks was exactly what I was looking for! I figured I needed to fully constrain it, but certainly much more complex than clicking a button or two and need to go into the design thinking about that 🙂

The more I use Fusion in this manner the more it reminds me of programming rather than design work!
