How do I align a cap piece over multiple components?

Greetings all! I'm quite new to Fusion 360 and attempting to build a self assembly type of project.

It consists of a triangular pyramid (3 sides + 1 bottom) and I'm attempting to make "caps" for each corner to keep it all together (see screenshots).

The issue I'm running into is I can't figure out, after much searching and trial, how to align my caps perfectly to the corners to properly encompass the panels/sides and perform a cut operation to create the insert slots inside the cap.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated as I just can't seem to figure out how to align/join/whatever these pieces properly.

Pictures are good for directions but the forum users need your model. Please attach it. If you do not know how to attach your model, open it in Fusion360, select the File menu and then choose Export and save the .F3D file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a reply forum post to attach it.

Sorry, didn't see your file attachment.

Use joints to align the sides and bottom.

Use Combine/Cut (Save Tools) to create the slots in the cap.

If you need to add clearance, use Press/Pull on the inner surfaces of the slot(s).

repeated use of position capture is going to bite you in the booty eventually. You might try constructing in place like in the attached. (notice it's still parametric. you can change the dims in the sketch to make adjustments. using the position captures won't allow that)

Follow the Screencast to create the points needed to place your Joints. I did one complete cap, showing you the last one in the Screencast. I will caution you when you try position the cap on the other corners because you may only want to add one joint to position the cap component because using more than one MAY give you Joint. @laughingcreek has a nicer solution, all I did was to answer your original question on the provide components. Model is attached.

@laughingcreek Thanks so much for the file. I'm so very new to Fusion 360, would you elaborate what you mean by "build in place" or point me to a tutorial that might expand on the concept you're referring to?

when you "build in place" objects are created in the location they belong. they are not "moved" or repositioned to get them there. typical of top down design strategies.
