Interior components showing up on a split body cut operation

I am new to fusion. This is my first project - a F-35. Crazy right!

When I attempted to create a mold of the fuselage, the interior bomb door hinges are part of the mold.

If the cut operation was the external skin, why did the hinges get included? How can I correct this prior to printing the mold sections?

I have attached a fusion file that has the 3 bodies in question.

Downloading a triangulated mesh model to start learning modeling in Fusion might not be crazy, but it is by far the worst method to learn Fusion.

If you can share the Fusion model that would probably help 😉

Hi,

I would strongly recommend that you do the embedded tutorials in the Fusion Documentation and also some of the

Self-Paced Learning to help you to learn fusion faster and better. They can be found here:

It is also much easier for the forum to help you if you attach your file AND a screenshot of what you want to achieve

and what the problem is. You can create a file to export like this:

Time spent on the tutorials and self paced learning will not be wasted. Also check out the three RULES that are pinned to the forum for further guidance.

You will learn way more about fusion if you actually do some research first and made your own F-35 Model. The

easiest way to do this would be the 3-view drawing methods where you use canvases to get your front, side and top

views and use these vies as a model for the design.

Any model that you make will be much more useful to you because you will know how you modeled it, and if you

need to make any changes it will be easy. Using someone else's mesh model will no doubt cause you nightmares

and you will more likely become frustrated with fusion than actually learn something.

Thanks for the reply.

I have attached a fusion file with the fuselage and molds above.

I used the mesh file as a basis for the rest of the model.

I have modeled the interior structure shown below.

In addition, I modeled the vectored exhaust port

I intend to make a composite skin and use the internal structure above as the mold for the composite.

That is when I ran into the issue of the hinges being visible on bottom mold.

If I cannot get a solution on how to remove them, I will just print the sections and do it the old fashion way - cut, sand, fill, primer.

I found the only way to fix this issue was to go back to the mesh and do a direct edit and delete the unwanted faces.
