Hi, My apologies if I've posted on the wrong Tinkercad forum. I have a Thingiverse .stl file kindly shared for free there but I 'd like to modify it by removing (or not printing) a section of the design and also lengthening it.

It's a scratch paper holder/desk organizer.

If this is not the correct forum for that, could you pls share a link tot the correct forum for posting this?

Thank you so much.

It will take you far longer to modify the stl file than it will take to simply model it in Fusion 360.

That one took a little too long, so this one uses the Shell command:

oops: screencast didn't load.

The screencasts show two methods for doing this. Watch them carefully and you will see how each method works. Note: You can control the playback speed.

The learning section of this website has good tutorials for beginners.

Hi,

Thank you so kindly for posting your video.

Is there audio? I didn’t hear any.

I opened this video in both VLC Media Player and another Video Viewer.

I then Zoomed to 200%.

The “words” on screen are very tiny to read (I’ve attached a screenshot of what I see).

It looks like you do the following”:

Open AutoFusion 360 (installed or on net? Not sure)

It looks like you then have opened something named “Browser”? – not sure how one finds “Browser.”

You then click the 1st listing in the drop down menu of “Browser” – not sure what the feature is named on screen

Then click on “New Document” – is that correct?

Then click on the 4tht item listed – can’t see what that’s named

Then it appears you click on “parent”? Is that correct?

Then it appears you click on another challenging to see title in the pop-up box.

Would you please be able to re-record by zooming in and possibly record in the resolution of your screen? Then, if possible, export from Premiere or DaVinci Resolve or OBS at 4k?

Thank you!

This is one of the simplest models to create in Fusion 360. I'd recommend you watch the Getting Started videos, then if you're stuck, start a new thread explaining where you're stuck.
