Shell error with parameters

Hey guys,

i have a parametric model of a little box. It is an assortment system so i have 1x1, 1x2, 4x5, etc.

1x1 for example is 55mmx55m.

I first build the filled cube with an extrusion and then do a shell with 1.2mm thickness.
I get an error on the shell function when setting the X and Y Count parameter higher then 5. And i really don't understand why. If i reduce the shell thickness from 1.2mm to 0.4mm it is working again. Here a screencast of the problem:

You are asking this model to do a lot of calculations with all the details in the box floor. Please be patient between parametric changes. You difficulty was introduced in the last timeline Combine feature. I tried the model up to a count of 5 by 5 but did not want to wait much more for the calculation. Model is attached in the original count of 2 by 2

thank you for the reply. But i need the cuts in the floor of the box. As i see you just removed them, right?
Or what did you change exactly?

I understand that my solution does not fit your needs. I do not see any solution to solving the Shell command is the last Combine is a Cut. I hope someone else will be able to provide a solution to fit your needs.

seems to be related to the filet on you're grid box mask. when it is suppressed things seem to work-

setting that fillet ridiculously low allows it to work-

and setting it ridiculously high works-

I can't see any specific reason why the shell works at low unit numbers, and fails at higher ones. My suspicion, based on the effect the fillet is having, is that this geometry here is over whelming the calculations and it is timing out internally.-

Thank you very much for your reply. Interesting. I also tried it without the fillet. Cause i only need it at the other edges. Not in the middle of the box. But if i want to do it on the other edges only i get this error.

Can you maybe try it on your computer? Don't know how to fix this 😕

Idk, fillet there doesn't work for me on your box either. There is something squirly going on with those 2 faces, I can't even extract them with "offset face" command. this is most likely related to "near tangency" errors that fusion also chokes on. your process has probably introduced very very very slight inconsistencies, but I haven't done a deep dive on your model so I wouldn't be able to say that for sure. You do seem to be working awfully hard for your outcome.

take a look at the attached and see if it works better for you. I noticed on this one that the fillet loses some of it's edge definitions if unit is set to 1, but other than that seems to work ok.
