Flat pattern after scaling sheet metal

Hi. Just another question once you scale a component that is sheet metal with bends can you then open it to a flat pattern. Currently trying and it won't once scaled. The original will create a pattern but then I can't scale it while as a pattern. I need it to create an annotated drawing for laser cutters. TIA

Do the scaling in the 2D drawing as you place the flat pattern view not in the sheet metal model.

Hi,

scaling a sheet metal part would change the length and width as well as the thickness.

But that makes no sense.
