    <description>&lt;P&gt;You've probably figured out by now that monkeying with the appearances won't get you the layered plywood effect.&amp;nbsp; There is an appearance called wood(solid)&amp;nbsp; that gives a 3d solid wood effect which is the right idea.&amp;nbsp; It's a 3d appearance, so you get endgrain etc.&amp;nbsp; you need the same type thing but with layers instead of concentric circles.&amp;nbsp; Seems that it would be possible for AD to create, but I haven't seen a way for the user to do it. (maybe someone who messes with the API can, Idk)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;you can fake it by layering up bodies.&amp;nbsp; it's a little tricky to get the order of operations right so it will work.&amp;nbsp; each layer ends up being a seperate body, so a little unwieldy.&amp;nbsp; see attached example model-&lt;/P&gt;
