Emboss cut: infinite circle problem

Hi,

When I try to do an emboss cut, there is still a infinite small circle that I cannot extrude. Can anyone solve this issue? The video is in my screencast. I cannot embed it. Error code 'Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied.'

Or perhaps there is an easier way to make cuts perpendicular to a surface.

Hi,

In my experience, "embossing" is the wrong tool for this process.
Use extrude/cut (solid or surface) and split body instead.
If you post a picture of a real existing object, one could demonstrate a process.

Hi Günther,

I want to reverse engineer this bottle cage holder for 3D printing. Like you can see, the cuts are made perpendicular to the cilinder, not perpendicular to the YZ-plane.
