Aligning Base Objects

Hmmm--weird but I posted this on the morning and it has vanished--here it is again:

I have done three "Insert into current design" operations to create the attached design. I learned here how to align (set relative positions) of separate "objects" by using geometry constraints on their sketches. In this case there are no sketches-we are dealing with "Base Features" generated by the Insert.

What I want to accomplish is to align the 3 objects so that their centers coincide. The "Modify:Align" doesn't seem to work here. Possibly could use Move but it doesn't quite work for me at least.

1) Can someone tell me the BEST way that I should align these 3 objects? (They must all sit "flat" almost in a plane)

2) An accessory question--what are these objects called? I don't think they are Components--nor Assemblies?

These are components. You can tell that they are components because they each have an origin, bodies folder, etc.

The best way to position components is to use Joints. I'm not sure what orientation you are after here, but there is a "flip" method to switch the orientation.

I guess the key is treating these as components-my first try I had failed but it works fine now.
