Also, if anyone sees this; whenever I try to render the model despite the distortion, the decal disappears. I read somewhere that the decal may be inverted, or on the "inside" which makes little sense because it should be a solid model. I also cannot use the "reverse normal" feature since it's a curved surface and not a flat face (or am I wrong on that?)

Either way, the decal is gone when I try to render. Any thoughts?

(not 100% sure if I'm posting this on the correct board)

So I made this soda can just as a test model and wanted to make some fake labels to try out some renders.

Getting the decals to work properly is not the most important thing in the world, but I can't seem to find a good answer to why the decal is distorting. I created the label on Adobe Illustrator and it is supposed to wrap around the soda can.

The soda can is not to scale, but it is roughly the size of a real can. I measured the circumference of the soda can and made sure that the label wrapped around it without any extra. I am getting a weird distortion where the label ends/starts.

I normally would not care if the decals are not perfect but since I wanted to test out some renders I would love for the label to not have this weird distortion.

If anyone is interested in looking into this, or if this is just a F360 bug, I will attach the model file as well as the decal file I made. The label wrap is transparent while the model is a red aluminum.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I don't see the decal disappearing in the downloaded file when I use the canvas render. I've not tried the local or cloud render yet.

I can see the artifacts where the decal start/end meets and that should not be the case.

@jodom4 can you direct this to the right team ?

Maybe my F360 is just being buggy. To test some things out, I split the body of the can randomly, and then hit undo, and then for some reason the decal shows up in render. F360 be weird like that sometimes.

Thank you for looking into this. I have seen other users with this same issue and have found 1 workaround but it seems like it should not be as complex as it has to be.

Thanks again,

Mike
