I now want to move the component within that plane, but I cannot add any constraints without getting a warning about over-constrained stuff. Clicking on the lowed edge of a body in my component, I see the little gray icon shown above. Searching for "fusion constraint icons" didn't lead me to anything. Is this the thing that's keeping my component from moving, and if so, can I get rid of it somehow?

On a closely-related note, I turned off "show constraints" during a sketch, and then selected this object, and this is the only constraint that I could find. Is there any way to reveal ALL the constraints on a component?

This Icon is not a Fusion Sketch Constraint icon, it indicates that the geometry is a "Projected" entity. You will also get this if you use the "Intersect" command. The entity it belongs to is connected to the geometry it was projected or intersected from. Select it and press Delete to remove it if desired.

If this answers your question, please select the "Accept Solution" icon on my post. If you have further questions, please ask.

First the icon, may be the Projected icon, not really a constraint, just a visual display for the property of a sketch article.

Planes do not own any geometry.

Constraints are sketch article properties, have nothing to do with components, unless the sketch is in the component. (Rule #1)

Joints provide constraining for Components.

Without the file, and a description of the needed outcome,

Might help?
