How to align screw thread on 3 different components

Hi as seen I have 3 components, 1. screw, 2. top material, 3. bottom material. how do i allign the top and bottom material screw threads to fit the screw.

The threads block each other with this arrangement.
What is your intention?

The bottom left of the picture is the location of the screengrab above, the bolt's purpose is to lock both the top and bottom part together, the issue is now that the threads are not aligned for top and bottom parts.

Hi,

One thing you might consider is to totally remove the threads on the inside of those parts so that the surface is

smooth. Then use Combine Cut with the screw thread as the cutting tool. This will cut the threads again in exactly

the right place.

having both the top and bottom parts threaded will defeat your stated purpose. the parts will never be held together tightly like this. and would be a night mare to manufacture on top of that. The bore of the top part needs to be smooth with a diameter larger than the bolt so the bolt can pass thru it to the threaded part, and pull the parts together when the nut is tightened.

@laughingcreek is correct. The top piece cannot have threads if you want a tight fit.

Hi,

The upper thread must be removed and replaced with a hole > 10.5 mm, e.g. for an m10 bolt.

The data for other threads can be found in tables.
