What to do in Fusion without "Spline on Surface" (SolidWorks)?

My company has asked me to remake a part in Fusion. The design is a cylindrical shell with some splines on the surface used as protection for cables that will run between them (image below).

When I previously designed it in Solidworks, to create the protective splines I used the tool "Spline on Surface" (gif-image below), but I can't find something similar in Fusion. I have managed to attach a spline's points to a cylinder, but then the path tends to take shortcuts from one point to the other without remaining on the surface (image below). It might work if I put more points but is there another (maybe easier) way?

If this solution is not possible in Fusion can you suggest something else that could provide the same protection?

It does not have to be splines at all, but to my knowledge I am not sure what else might work. For example:

an extrude could have replaced some of the splines but not the ones running around a large part of the cylinder (image below) or a coil, with its constant pitch (and profile facing the "wrong" way) wouldn't work either.

How would you guys, who know Fusion inside and out, cope with the task of imitating the original form (or rather its function)?

1. try using the emboss tool (SOLID > CREATE > Emboss/Deboss)

2. please share a sample file

You´re a genius Guenther!
Wasn't aware there was something like the emboss tool. Haven't tested it yet, only seen a tutorial video. But not only should it totally works, I should also be able to make the part pretty much out from one single sketch!

2. The embossing does not work with double curved surfaces.
