Hi,

Glad that worked for you. I'm not certain as right clicking on actual model
parts often gives you context specific things whereas the options in the
assembly tree are more related to organising the file.

On that note if it is a file you made then ensuring you have a good
structure to your assembly tree is the solution. I have many assy with
hundreds of parts or more and yet I can normally get to the part I want in
4 or 5 clicks because I have broke. The big assembly into many smaller sin
assemblies

I have a large assembly and I want to isolate and inspect a component in it. I Activate the component I get this:

When I click 'Inspect' to get some measurements it turns into this:

And when I try to get measurements it wants to measure every line visible, not just the Activated item.

I've read that you right click on the component and select 'Isolate', but Isolate isn't an option when I do that.

How do you isolate a component so that you can inspect it, measure it, or use it in another assembly?

Thanks.

to isolate it as in view just that part. Right click on it in the assembly tree and pick isolate 🙂 this will hide everything else. Note - to get everything else visible again you need to right click at the top level and choose un-isolate all

To repurpose a part you have modelled within an assembly (top down modelling style) you can right click on it in assy tree and choose save copy as. Then name appropriately and import into your next assembly 🙂

Thank you.

If I want to export a component, can I do it without finding it in the Tree? I right click directly on the part but don't see export as an option. I have to find it highlighted in the Tree, which has hundreds of components so can take a few minutes.

Also how do I find my old posts in the forum? I wanted to review this and only lucked into it. I didn't see how to find my posts under my membership.

Thanks.
