Greetings!

I work drafting houses and commercial buildings from blueprints into metal framed structures. I'm trying to see if there is a way to take our model and convert them to Fusion360 solid object so we can do detailed connection drawings to show connection points between panels and/or be able to 3d print models. I've attached a copy of the dwg from one of our current houses for an example of the dwg we're working with.

Thanks for helping this newb out!

-J

for our chain it is all fine, no need for it to be a solid.

it goes from FrameCAD to another program that prepares it for the roll former. the only thing i can export from the other program is either for the roll former or a WRL file.

the few ways i've found to do convert it says to go from MESH to BREP, but i guess the model is to complex and has to many facets and surfaces for fusion to handel?

Did you see the information that I added to my previous response?

In addition to the previous information...

In Fusion you WILL need solid bodies or at least mesh surfaces to start.

You have neither, not in your dwg file and not in your stl file.

its an Ender3 printer, 9.5x. the representation of each thin walled 2x4 is not necessary. Just the overall dimensions.

Is what i'm attempting out of the picture? I don't know how i would convert what i have to anything different.
