I did a Split Face on a solid body, to create a Surface Offset from it, but the tool only seems to select the entire original surface, instead of allowing selection of the split face. In the below image, I split a face in two, coloured green and blue. But when I try to select the blue face, it uses the entire face of the body, top and bottom.

Is this F360's default behaviour, or am I missing something?

I was able to offset a split face, as long as I unchecked "chain faces" in the Offset command:

Thank you, that worked AOK. I still struggle a bit as to when to chain, and when not.

I can stop generating a Screencast as Günther suggested. 🙂
