Thanks Gunther. I've watched most of these already 🙂 As mentioned, I've been able to build my domes no problem, just looking for a fast way to automatically populate their edges with extrusions (while keeping the parametric nature of my underlying patches).

Hi there.

I'm looking to build various partial geodesic dome frames from 80/20 or similar. I've successfully created accurate polyhedra in F360 as patch surfaces - so I'd like to now replace each surface edge with an extruded profile. Are there any scripts that would constrain an extrusion/part to an edge - while allowing some kind of controllable up-vector (center of dome)?

Thanks in advance!

*note - accidentally posted this in the general support area initially, still trying to find out how to remove that post!

How are you doing the intersections?

Extrude to Object, As Component and pattern it, comes to mind, but for the intersections .....

Yep - that’s the route I eventually took. It’s pretty slow however as every uniquely angled extrusion in the pattern (which is more than you’d think) needs a custom plane/alignment.
For the intersections, I placed a sphere at each vertex and used it to trim the beam lengths - leaving me with even spacing where I will design the hubs.
