I have another question for you, Is there a way to flip which side the numbers are on when dimensioning a line or gap? Just because sometimes I need the arrows and numbers to be on the left and not the right and I don't want to have to drag it through all the way to the other side so I was wondering if there was a way to just flip it?

I am having another issue with this Drawing Feature. For some reason on some designs when I go to place a Leader Note to define threads I click and make the arrow pointing at the threads, then type the thread designation, and then when I click off or click cancel on the option window the note and arrow disappear every time no matter where I place it. But on other designs where I have to do the same thing and define threads it works fine and stays. I tried saving, closing, and re-opening thinking it was a glitch but it still disappears when I click off to save it.

#1. Is there a way to fix this or something I need to do different?
#2. Is there a better feature/tool to use to define threads?

I would really appreciate help with this! Thank you!

Ok. I just tried it, and it works on holes where I actually used the "Hole" tool to make the hole and add the threads, but on the other holes where I just extruded the hole and then added threads using the "Thread" tool it doesn't want to work. Is there another way to do this or something I am missing? Or should I just add leader notes for these holes with threads?

It definitely isn't working on any threads that I used the "Thread" tool on my models

You are correct, if you use the Thread tool to apply threads to holes. I would suggest using the Hole tool to create tapped holes and then it work perfectly. For threaded rod and special threaded holes you will have to return to your Leader Note. If you create a hole using Extrude, I suggest you use the normal Auto Dimension tool in the drawing environment, it normally does what your need and remember if you need to add to the dimension callout, double click on it to add tolerance, notes, symbols, etc.

Ok, but when I click on the threads to make a leader note, make the arrow, type the designation and then click off it disappears everytime. But on other designs when I do the exact same thing, it works perfectly fine. Any suggestions to fix this? Is there a way to just draw the arrow and then add my text after using a different tool? Just because I can't even make the arrow with leader note, it always disappears when I click off

I am sorry for you issue but I cannot replicate it on my side. I have create new and used existing drawing but Leader Notes do not give me any issues. You say you are clicking off, does this mean you are clicking in the background or are you selecting the Close icon in the dialog box. Both do not give me issues but you should try both just to see it is makes a difference. If this continues from you, I suggest you start a new forum thread and post a video of your problem and supply both the model and the drawing you are using. You can export the model and drawing easily from the A360 database after you have save your drawing. The file will be a F3Z file extension.

I am not at my office right now but I will be in about 2-3 hours and I will take a video of it happening on multiple drawings and post it.

Maybe if you tried this you will have the same issue:
1. make a cylinder with a 50mm diameter
2. shell the cylinder and leave 10mm walls
3. from the Top (opening side) of the cylinder make a 5mm offset line off the Inside Diameter line so it is exactly half way between the ID and OD on the wall.
4. Extrude/Cut -15mm of material towards the base
5. Create a metric thread with an offset of 5mm and length of 10mm
6. Create a drawing from that model (a more basic, but similar version of the one I am having issues with)

Then let me know if you can define those threads using a Leader Note (or any other tool that makes it work) without the note disappearing when you click off the text or when you click close on the text settings box.

If they don't disappear on you I will submit a video of it happening to me when I'm back in the office. But if they do disappear, let me know if/how to solve this issue.

I really appreciate your help with this problem! I have this project due on Monday for a client so I have to get this figured out ASAP!

Supplying your model explained it all. You are using Modelled threads on your component. This is causing the issue since the Leader Note cannot find an edge to attach to. There is no need to have model threads in a 2D drawing, in fact it is less clear than simplified threads. Take off the modelled thread option in your design and all works a normal.

I think so there can be a mistake how you made it... I was able to add leader note in my own design...

Also there is a type of Leader not named Hole and Thread Note. But that is not working in your and mine too... No point or line is being selected....

Thank you for all the help and suggestions, but I figured it out!

Attached is a video of my solution.

If you want to define modeled threads in a drawing you have to create a "Detailed View" of the threads. Once you do that you can create a leader note off the edge of one of the threads and it will stay.

I hope this helps you to rushabhthakkar_910!

There's also a 2nd option...

When you place a view of your model, select one of the "Isometric" views. You can't place dimensions on any isometric view, but you can place all of the different kinds of notes on it.

I have another question for you, Is there a way to flip which side the numbers are on when dimensioning a line or gap? Just because sometimes I need the arrows and numbers to be on the left and not the right and I don't want to have to drag it through all the way to the other side so I was wondering if there was a way to just flip it?
